Cycling or something else?

With the Paris Olympics showcasing 32 different sports, we asked some young cyclists which sport they would choose if they were not cycling.

Hassan (London, category 2) – BMX

Hassan loves BMX. He loves the speed and adventure of cycling over bumpy tracks. ‘I like doing tricks and making big jumps,’ he says enthusiastically. For Hassan, BMX is an exciting way to experience his love of cycling in a different way.

Micha (Emmen, category 7) – Sailing

Micha sees himself in a sailboat. He loves being on the water and enjoys the peaceful feeling of sailing. ‘I love the sea and that you can go nice and fast in places where you are not allowed to go with a motorised boat,’ says Micha.

Daemiën (Leeuwarden, category 7) – Football

Daemiën chooses football as his alternative sport. He loves working with a team and scoring goals. ‘I then enjoy playing with friends and beating our opponents,’ he says with a laugh.

Although these young riders each have their own favorite alternative sport, they all remain most enthusiastic about cycling. Cycling remains their greatest passion. So, we wish them the best of luck in their races this week, and hope they continue to enjoy the sport they love most!
